Syrris has collaborated with the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) to manufacture a unique custom reactor system (CRS) for the Institute’s Petroleum Research Center. Associate research scientist Dr. Salah Al-Enezi explained:
“KISR is a national institute of science and technology engaged in developing practical solutions to problems such as the preservation of the environment and sustainable management of Kuwait’s natural resources, as well as supporting the growth of national industries. My department is researching the deformation of polymer samples under supercritical conditions, for applications in the petrochemical tubing field. We needed a custom reactor system to help with these measurements, and Syrris followed our proprietary design to manufacture a one-of-a-kind prototype custom reactor system for us.”
“Our custom reactor system consists of a 300 mL, stainless steel, oil jacketed reactor capable of operating at temperatures of up to 200 °C and pressures of up to 200 bar, with a Coriolis flowmeter for mass flow measurements. It is fully PC controlled and very easy to operate, and the advanced software – which includes data logging – is excellent. We have had the custom reactor system for several months now, and are really pleased with it. The system is in frequent use for our research, as well as for training new employees and teaching university and college students.”
Syrris did an excellent job, and I would be happy to develop similar prototypes with the Company in the future.”
